“Although I have worked at Love in Action the longest, the time has flown by because I love my job. What I love about working here is that everyone works as a team that helps push this mission forward.”
Gratitude fills my heart as I reflect on my role as a maintenance worker at the orphanage. Part of my daily routine involves stepping out at noon to collect donations. It’s a mission close to my heart, a way to ensure that every girl here has what she needs, from ensuring donations are picked up such as tortillas, meat, and chicken. I am profoundly thankful for the generosity of those who contribute. Recently, I marveled at the impact of a tortilla donation—a whopping 14 tons provided by a generous soul in our beautiful community. His kindness, along with that of countless others, sustains the home and allows me to play a part in maintaining a nurturing environment.
Beyond my maintenance duties, I strive to support everyone here, contributing to the sense of home that defines this place. With years of experience, I’ve become intimately acquainted with the nooks and crannies of this space. It’s a familiarity born out of years spent caring for this home.
I recognize that my absence would leave a void, as my understanding of the intricacies of this place is deeply rooted. Gratefulness fills my heart not just for the tangible contributions but for the God-given intelligence and insight that allow me to assist Love in Action Children’s Home. It’s a collective effort, and I extend my deepest thanks to those who support us in creating a haven for these incredible girls. Your contributions make a significant impact, allowing us to continue providing a loving and secure environment. Join us in the ongoing journey of caring and maintaining a place these girls can truly call home.
Jorge Beltran
Meet Jorge Beltran Gomez, otherwise known as “Don Jorge.” He has been working at Love in Action for the past 12 years.
His story begins in Chapala, Jalisco, where he is a proud husband and father to three children.
When Don Jorge first began working on the current property that is now Love in Action, there was another orphanage residing there. Back in 2006, he had been looking for a job for 2 months when someone recommended this job to him. Once Love in Action moved onto this new property, we inherited their faithful and hardworking maintenance man, Don Jorge! Since then, he has been a vital part of this team and ministry.
Jorge's prayer requests are coming soon!
